I just answered my own question….

 

Basically I have an iPhone plan (locked in from the purchase of an iPhone 3GS a year ago) which I am currently paying for but not using as the company I work for pays for my mobile phone bills on a separate contract..

 

So I wondered can I put the data allocation on my iPhone plan to use by obtaining a microSim from Voda to replace my old sim and use the microSim in my newly purchased iPad. 

 

The answer to my satisfaction is YES!
