Ok so Vodafone and Telecom have started taking pre-orders now, but I dont want to sign up to either of those networks. Does any body know if the apple website will be doing pre-orders for NZ or will it be an absolute nightmare trying to order them on apples website next Friday?

Based on previous iPhone launches, Apple have not pre-ordered in NZ. It'll be a free for all.

Well that sucks, what time does the website usually open its doors then or is it 'be ready on the refresh button all day…' kind of rubbish.

Thanks to the Telcos, online order started at 3:01am (instead of 12:01am) , I ordered it at 3:50am but still the delivery time is showing up as 2-3 weeks, that sucks.

I was able to pre-order on apple.com/nz from 1.15am but yeah still 3-4 weeks. estimated time of deliver on my order 29th oct – 2nd Nov.

Ok, not quite being prepared to stay up all night to buy a new iPhone this morning I find the shipping is 3-4 weeks! :-(
So I walk into a Telecom outlet to see if I can buy a phone at retail to be told nope, has to be on our not so all singing super expensive contract! even though they had one right there!!! So annoying!!!
However, I have heard, that as of tomorrow the telco's will be offering the phones for retail as well, but can anyone else confirm that this is the case?
