Its pretty bad.
I got a ph call just before the iPhone 5 release from Vodafone telling me that they put aside a phone for me if I wanted to change to a new plan. (The iPhone would only be held for me if I got a $100+ plan)
My current plan = $61ish a month for 3gig, 60 mins, 2500txt and 1000pxt.
New plan = $100 a month for 2gig, 300mins, 2500txt and 0pxt.
Since I have had my phone I have NEVER used all 60mins or 2500 txts and send the odd pxt to a non-iPhone phone.
Vodafone is effectively saying to me "You give us an extra $40 a month and we will take away 1 gig of data from you). I was pretty insulted t.b.h and actually got a call back later in the day telling me I should have been offered an extra gig on top of the 2gig to equal my current plan.
Still, Its a SMART phone.
I use Skype, Viber, Tango and even Ventrilo for voice so mins are not a big deal. iMessage, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and so on for txting…
If they had offered MORE data but less txts I may have considered the plan, hell, they could have halved my mins as well…
But they didn't, which caused me to look at other providers and I have found out I can get my current 'plan' on 2Degrees Pre-Pay for pretty much 1/2 what I'm paying now.
It even works out that I would save close to $900 (over a 24 month period) if I buy the phone from Apple and move to 2Degrees rather than change to a Vodafone plan and receive the handset discount.
