iOS 4.1 now available for Apple TV
Well here you go everyone… hot off the heels of iOS 4.2.1 for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch the Apple TV just got it’s update to 4.1.
We know the 4.1 update will bring AirPlay video across your iDevices, but are yet to find out more. You can download it direct to the device through the Apple TV update or download it directly here and update via iTunes. Hit the comments once you’ve updated.

id Software desert New Zealand App Store
id Software has deserted the New Zealand App Store. The authors of the Doom series who have also just released their highly anticipated Rage FPS have not released the new title in the NZ store and in fact have pulled all their existing apps with the exception of Wolfenstein 3D Classic. We’ve approached id for an explanation, and we’ll let you know if we get a response. In the meantime our fingers are crossed that this is all just an error and that the catalogue will be returned to the Store so that we can actually get our hands on Rage HD.…

iOS 4.2.1 Gold Master seeded to developers… What the…?
Well what have we here… iOS 4.2.1 Gold Master. Yup that’s not a typo you see before you, apple have released iOS GM 4.2.1 to devs for all versions of iOS.
We are obviously getting closer and closer to the public release of 4.2 but what the dot one is fixing we are unsure… we’d say it’s pretty minor though for Apple to go straight to GM with it.

Exclusive hands on – Kiwi App Preview: TradeMe [video][gallery] – Update Available Now!
Way back when we first started this site we wrote about “Kiwi sites that should have an iPhone version but don’t”. The #1 site for us was TradeMe but nothing ever came of it until 10 months later when iPhonewzealand writer Paul received a Tweet saying “it’s on the to do list”, then a month and half ago we saw the TradeMe API released and immediately questions were being asked of an imminent iPhone app.
We heard nothing and clearly if anything was being worked on it was under NDA…. that is until today! Completely out of the blue we received an email from a dev asking us for our UDID’s so he could send us a surprise…. we’re pretty switched on here at iPnz and spotted the @trademe.co.nz part of his email address straight away. Needless to say our UDID’s were sent immediately and below is our first look and hands-on with the new, official, TradeMe app.

Apple about to make ‘exciting announcement’ about iTunes (Update: It’s The Beatles)
Well this is exciting… Apple just updated the splash screen of their website to the above graphic. We have no idea what it means, but at 4am tomorrow morning all will be revealed. Want to place bets on what’s in store? iTunes subscriptions or streaming from the cloud seem the only obvious possibilities but hit us up in the comments if you have any other bright ideas.
UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the announcement will be the Beatles catalogue being added to iTunes, which has been part of a legal battle between Apple and the Fab Four ever since iTunes was launched. Not particularly exciting to us, but we can see how Mr Jobs and co would consider this a milestone.

Revised iOS 4.2 GM released, fixes iPad WiFi issues
Hot off the heals of the iTunes 10.1 release, which adds supports for the upcoming iOS 4.2 upgrade, Apple have released a revision of the iOS 4.2 Grand Master (GM). Supposedly, this is to fix issues with WiFi on the iPad, which delayed the official launch of iOS 4.2 to the general public.
Assuming there are no additional issues with the GM, we should see a public release sometime next week.…

iTunes 10.1 released, support for AirPlay and iOS 4.2 included
Earlier this morning, Apple released the new version of their iTunes software, which now boasts the ability to sync with the new iOS 4.2 due out very soon. Support has also been added for the promised ‘AirPlay’ feature which allows owners of the new Apple TV to stream media from their iTunes library to their TV.
A Mac Rumors report suggests that iOS 4.2 may not come until next week, however this iTunes upgrade is a sure sign it’s on its way.

AirPrint now restricted to ‘AirPrint-enabled’ printers only? (updated)
One of the key new features of iOS 4.2 is undoubtedly AirPrint – a neat feature that allows you to print from your iPhone and / or iPad. At the iOS 4.2 keynote, it was announced that AirPrint would work with any printer shared on your wireless LAN via Bonjour, or with any printer that had native support for the new AirPrint standard. It now seems that those of us in the first boat with shared printers have had the rug pulled from under us, and the service is now limited to just specific AirPrint printers… all from HP.
