Vodafone: No you can’t use your iPad 1 SIM in your iPad 2
When I got an email earlier from iPnz user Camtab I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Vodafone are restricting the use of MicroSIM’s between devices and not just between iPhone and iPad, but between iPad 1 and iPad 2 meaning you are going to need to get a new MicroSIM card.…
Read MoreIs this a bad time to renew your MobileMe subscription?
In the madness of the Feb 22nd earthquake and it’s aftermath, we managed to miss the news that on Feb 24th Apple discontinued retail boxes containing MobileMe activation keys. Since that revelation, speculation has been rife across the interwebs that Apple are wanting to clear these from shelves in preparation for an overhaul of the service and the possibility that the service will soon become free.
Yesterday, before finding out about this, I logged into the account section of MobileMe and got a warning that my account was due to expire in seventeen days. There was no link to renew the subcription so I was completely stuck as to how I might continue with the service. Then I remembered that Apple’s online store sold the retail boxes with activation keys (my preferred method of payment for MobileMe) so I went to the site only to find that the product was nowhere to be found. Confused, I hopped onto Apple’s ExpressLane service and had a conversation with a MobileMe support person, and my interpretation of the responses to my questions is that we’re less than 45 days away from the new MobileMe. But I’ll let you be the judge. I am going to share a transcript of the conversation: you read the questions and answers carefully and draw your own conclusions.…

Read MoreKiwi App Review & Give Away: AnimalBlocks for iPad
We get asked to review a lot of apps here at iPhonewzealand and I have to say that I have had some great fun with my daughter showing her the latest app from kiwi devs Flightless whilst I’ve been reviewing it. She is of an age where she can’t spell yet, but enjoys sounds, animals and sparkly things on the screen. In fact this is the first app I have reviewed where I have used her to play with it and it’s been great fun watching her reaction. As I say she can’t spell yet but with a little help from her Dad she was soon clapping when the app sparkled telling her we had the letter in the right place. Keep reading to see more about AnimalBlocks the great new app from the devs at Flightless and see how you can win yourself one of two copies.…

Approximately 6 months ago Steve wrote a post on the site titled How my iOS devices helped us in the quake and how they could save your life.
