iOS 5.0.1 goes live… promises to fix battery woes and more

This morning iOS 5.0.1 has gone live to the public and according to the release notes, among other things, will fix battery issues from iOS 5 and will improve voice recognition for dictation with an Australian accent. No doubt it will also seem a lot snappier, smoother and faster then any previously release of iOS as well… but don’t all new updates?? See below for full details of the update.

The iPhone battery life is a much discussed topic, and whilst I think a day is ok for a smartphone battery to last, anything you can do to make it last longer is a bonus. The other day Steve and I were playing around with some settings and we believe we have found the best tip to increase your battery life by at least double and it’s so easy!

iPad battery replacement service is actually a new iPad

Reports yesterday have revealed that Apple’s battery replacement service for the iPad will actually consist of them replacing the device with a new one (or a refurb at least) for a service fee rather than them replacing the battery.

Over the last few months my iPhone’s battery-life had gotten worse and worse, to the point where I could barely make it through a single day without falling below 20%.
