iOS 5.1 beta 2 seeded to devs… you can now delete photos from Photo Stream!
I am not sure I have been this excited about a beta in some time. Normally they come and go and eventually you get your GM release. But this one had me at hello.
iOS 5.1 beta 2 is available for developers now and with it comes the ability to delete/remove individual photos from iCloud’s Photo Stream, something that I, and many others, feel should have been there from day one.
The update is available for all the usual suspects, iPhone (4, 4S and 3GS), iPad (1 and 2), iPod touch (3rd and 4th gen) and also the Apple TV 2. Keep reading for more or head over to the developer site to download.…

Apple have today released iOS 5.1 beta to the development community for testing. Along with it they have also released Xcode 4.3 beta which is required if you are wanting to develop and test your applications with iOS 5.1 devices.
According to reports there are a number of bug fixes and changes in this release including references to an iPad 3 and a new “geofencing” setting that apparently stops battery drain in the Reminders app when it’s not in use.
Head over to the developer site to download and see the full notes.

Read MoreHaving issues with your APN settings under iOS 5 beta 7? Here’s a work around:
It would seem that Apple have removed the ability to change the APN settings in iOS 5 beta 7 for non-official carriers. Hopefully this is just an oversight in this beta and it will be fixed before the GM is released (if not it could leave a lot of users out in the cold). Personally I believe it is a bug as Apple sell the iPhone to use on “the carrier of your choice” when buying from the online store, so they are surely required to make sure you can use it properly (hence the reason it was allowed in the past).
In the meantime if you need to change your APN or it has stopped working here’s how you can do it (it requires you to have a Vodafone SIM or other “official carrier” SIM):

Read MoreiOS 5 beta 6 now available to developers
Apple has seeded iOS 5 beta 6 to developers this morning, along with iTunes 10.5 beta 6. The update is available as either a full download or OTA delta update (which appears to be nice and easy this time around, unlike beta 5) and appears to be a bug-fix release rather than one that adds any major new functionality.…
Read MoreFTW: Apple releases new 10.7.2 seed and iCloud for Mac beta 6, required for migration
Alongside the opening of the web tool for developers to migrate their MobileMe account to iCloud, Apple has released a new seed of Mac OS 10.7.2 and a new beta of iCloud for Mac. Mac OS 10.7.2 build 11C35 and iCloud for Mac beta 6 are both required to complete the MobileMe to iCloud transition process.…
Read MoreiOS 5 beta 5 now available with slightly messy OTA option
Apple has release beta 5 of iOS 5 to developers this morning which can be applied as either a full build or an OTA delta update. The OTA update for beta 4 was incredibly convenient, but it’s a different story for beta 5 as in order to begin the update you’ll need to head into the Settings menu and erase and reset all of the content on your device. Icky! There’s also a new iTunes 10.5 beta to go with it. Have fun!

Could Delta updates OTA be seen as early as iOS 5 beta 3?
One of the new features of iOS 5 is Delta updates OTA and knowing that you’d need iOS 5 for this to work we knew that it wouldn’t happen when upgrading to the first beta. And although hopeful for some delta action when going to beta 2 we kinda new that wouldn’t happen either, but could we see it for beta 3? Maybe… keep reading to see why.…

Apple’s 3rd update in just about as many weeks to their latest beta iOS (iOS beta 4.3) has just dropped and is ready for download (if your are a dev). What changes does it bring? At this stage we are unsure but once it’s down and installed we’ll be sure to update you. Hopefully Skype now works (unlikely though).

Have you installed it? Found anything new or improved? Then hit the comments.
Update 1: The first of the changes has come in (although it’s a 4.3 thing not a beta 3 thing): You can now cancel app downloads midway through [via review of the Apple TV.. and although a little buggy (occasionally quits back to the Apple TV main menu) at least it is now here and I am sure by the time 4.3 is public it will work perfectly.
