TheInsider app is a locally developed iPhone app which is doing its best to make life easier for Wellingtonians and Aucklanders.
There’s a handful of other apps out there that give you a list of deals around your local area but not like The Insider. The app is a very easy to use place to find happy hours, 2 for 1 deals and other specials for your local restaurants and bars.
The app was developed by Jacob Duncan and Niko Croskery, both have full time jobs so the app was an ‘after hours’ project taking just 9 months. The two attended Tauranga Boys College together before Niko headed to Wellington to study Law and Jacob took on the mighty Dunedin to study Software Engineering. TheInsider app is the first venture from their company, Wiretapp Labs Limited.
The app was first available in Wellington last year and is now live in Auckland. However there are plans to move……Read More
Now here’s a blast from the past: an app version of a good old classic ‘party’ game. High technology meets retro low-tech fun. You’ll have played this a dozen times already (perhaps at school). You know: the game where you’re asked to choose a noun or a name or a verb and your choices are inserted into a story. But is it as fun as it was back then? …Read More

Read after the break to see how I got on with this highly addictive and exciting iOS game!…Read More

Kiwi devs MEA Mobile have recently launched an app that does just that – iSupr8. Keep reading for a quick look and a demo video.…Read More
Thirsty? Don’t worry: Flightless have you covered with their new app What Cocktail?. All you need to do is fire up this little kiwi-made app, tell it what mood you’re in and shake your iPhone, although you might want to stop doing that once you’ve had a few. The app will then dispense some mixological advice (is that even a word? It is now.)…Read More
I’ll be completely honest: when Wellington-based Flightless asked us to review a sheep-herding game called Top Dog, I wasn’t expecting much. Being very much an urbanite, I shun Country Calendar and if I venture too far out of the city I start to convulse uncontrollably until I’m within spitting-distance of concrete again. So, with that in mind I’m very surprised to report that I’m completely addicted! Why? Read on.…Read More
When we visited the NZ iDev Un-Conference waaaaay back last year, there was a time slot set aside for ‘Show and Tell’. One app that caught our eye was Sudoku Real Edition for the iPad by New Zealand husband and wife developers David & Amy Jones.
Now, Sudoku Real Edition 2 has been approved by Apple and we have a sneak peek at what’s in store (or going to be on Saturday). We also managed to catch up with David & Amy for a bit of a chat to find out more about their apps, what’s new in version 2, oh and we’ve got hold of three promo codes to giveaway.
