Kiwi iPad App For Autistic Children
Another great Kiwi developer has made a very helpful iPad app, you might have seen it in the news recently. Kiwi developer Wayne Lewis has created an iPad app which is aimed at making the lives of autistic children and their parents a lot easier.
Communicate Easy is the name of the iPad app, available on the iTunes store for $1.99.
Lewis has a personal link to autism, his son Ciaran has autism and needs help with simple daily tasks. According to Wayne, Ciaran proved to be the best app tester in the world……
Read MoreNZ Police Get iPhones And iPads For Facebook On The Go
This week the New Zealand Police announced that they will be dishing out iPads and iPhones to a large portion of the men and women of the force. OK, so probably not for Facebook but I’m sure they’re not complaining. A great time to be a cop, you might say.
In all seriousness though, giving our front line the best technology possible is a no brainer really. Whatever the cost, if it saves lives in the long run it’s worth it.
After 11 months of testing and trying out different devices, there’s no surprise in what they chose……

The Blockheads is the latest game from New Zealand developer David Frampton. In the past he has developed the very successful ‘Chopper‘ and BlockHeads is looking like it will also be a huge success. Read MoreNew Zealands Got Talent, on Your iPhone
In case you have not realised, New Zealands Got Talent has been on TV for a few weeks now. The talent has been a bit up and down but you can now join in on your iPhone.
The New Zealand talent may not make you go crazy but this app might get you into it.
TVNZ has recently brought out an app for voting and to provide live feedback on each act.
The competition is into the semi final stage so voting is now very important.
You do have to purchase bundles of votes via iTunes but the live feedback is free. The Swing-O-Meter allows viewers to give their opinion during each act by clicking a tick or a cross.
So if you have a friend or family member on the show, this is a pretty cool way to give them support.
As well as voting and giving feedback, you can checkout highlights, learn about the contestants and keep up to date with social media and competitions.
Personally, NZGT has been a bit of a let down. But this app seems to be very well done, it certainly will get a few more people involved.
Perhaps the app developers should have entered the competition.
The app is free and you can check out the app on iTunes here…

Read MoreiTunes in the cloud now available from New Zealand store
Amongst other updates that are coming with iCloud, Apple has quietly updated the iTunes Store on iOS 5 to now allow for iTunes in the Cloud, meaning the music you purchase in iTunes appears automatically on all your devices and you can also download your past iTunes purchases.
It needs to be activated by going to “Settings >> Store” and then you will see that under Automatic downloads there is now a Music option. This will likely already be there once you download iOS 5 if you are not a dev and don’t currently have it. Once you have done that you will see purchases in the iTunes app and you will be able to download your pas purchases.
Unfortunately iTunes Match is still only available for U.S account holders. Image gallery after the break…
Hat tip to JarrodM for the heads up…
