App Review: Quota
Most people have heard of Consume by now, in fact we did a review of it when it first came out. It has become the industry standard usage app for the iOS. However Bjango has not updated it for sometime and is not natively iPad compatible, which is leading to a clunky and rather utilitarian UI.

As predicted, Verizon have just announced the launch of a CDMA iPhone 4, and while there’s nothing of much interest in that for anybody outside of the US, what is of note is that the demo unit shown-off was running iOS 4.2.5 which had a WiFi hotspot option tucked away inside the Settings app, allowing it to share its mobile data connection with any other WiFi-enabled device in the vicinity. While no such assurances were made at the announcement, there’s a good chance that this feature could make its way to non-CDMA iPhones once that version of iOS is rolled out. Fingers crossed!…

When FaceTime was launched I was excited about it, OK we already have Skype for voice and a plethora of other video calling apps, but there was something about FaceTime that seemed different and unique. However once all the details emerged and we found out that you couldn’t FaceTime over 3G I was disappointed to say the least and begun to find that FaceTime was more of a gimmick that I could show my mates when they came round the house but not make much use of in everyday life. Lord knows we’re not exactly flush with them here in Aotearoa so it’s good to know where they are! Top work!
